July CoreDX DDS Connection 2026 Welcome to the Twin Oaks Computing, Inc Newsletter! Our monthly newsletter brings you news and information about Twin Oaks Computing and our CoreDX DDS middleware. CoreDX DDS v6 Announcement Twin Oaks Computing is preparing to move all users to our latest CoreDX DDS version - CoreDX DDS v6. We will be retiring support for CoreDX DDS v5 at the end of 2026. CoreDX DDS v6 adds a number of enhancements and improvements to the CoreDX DDS product, while maintaining the high level of robustness, performance, and low resource consumption our customers require. In particular, CoreDX DDS v6 implements the new Extensible and Dynamic Topic Types for DDS (XTypes) standard v1.2 (and forward) features. This version of the standard introduces and revises many details of the type system used by DDS. CoreDX DDS v6 was first made available in 2024 with limited language and platform support. We have been working diligently since then to address issues and expand the language bindings and platforms in preparation for replacing v5. CoreDX DDS v6 Highlights:

Initialize a QoS structure or object before using it If you are creating a new QoS structure to provide a create_xxx() method, it is important to ensure all QoS fields are initialized. The easiest way to do this is to obtain a copy of the QoS structure initialized with CoreDX DDS degault settings then apply the specific settings needed for the application.
