Meet with Twin Oaks Computing in Reston, VA.

March 24-27, 2026

Twin Oaks Computing has seen tremendous success connecting with clients at past events - especially those interested in the powerful energy and microgrid solutions enabled by CoreDX DDS. This year, we're excited to continue those conversations and showcase how our CoreDX DDS solutions support scalable, high-performance, real-time systems.

If you're attending the OMG meeting, be sure to stop by our booth to learn how CoreDX DDS can help drive your next energy or microgrid project forward. We look forward to seeing you there!

CoreDX DDS Tips & Tricks

Welcome to this month's edition of CoreDX DDS Tips & Tricks, where our engineers provide quick bits of information to help our customers.

Why does my read() call return 'NO_DATA'?

Note that a 'NO_DATA' return from read() or take() is not a sign of an error within CoreDX DDS. It simply means there is no data in the DataReader cache that meets the criteria of the provided read filters.

This is one example sequence of events that can result in a NO_DATA return from read():

  1. data_available status is set (and listeners invoked)
  2. sample causing on_data_available() to be called is removed from the DataReader cache
  3. application calls read() or take()

For more information on when samples are removed from the DataReader cache, refer to the Sample and Instance Management whitepaper.

CoreDX DDS Tips & Tricks are intended to be useful for engineers using CoreDX DDS. If you have any questions, please contact us.
